Glass-sealed air-conditioning houses and offices may look good, but they are proving dangerous for your bones. Such homes and offices, which are considered the epitome of modern lifestyle, deprive people of not only fresh air, but also sunlight, due to which the body is deficient in vitamin-D and bones are weak. Dr. Raju Vaishya, senior bone surgeon at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, studied a thousand patients of joint pain and arthritis in different cities of the country and found that 95 percent of such patients had vitamin- There is a deficiency of D and one of the main reasons for this is not getting enough sunlight, which is the main source of Vitamin-D.

The chairman of the Arthritis Care Foundation, Dr. Raju Vaishya told that in fact sunlight is the main source of vitamin-D, which is very useful in digestion as well as bones. Due to busy routines and modern resources, people are unable to take strong sunlight. Walking and playing in the open field also stopped. Due to this, vitamin D obtained through sunlight cannot reach them.

Whenever someone has pain in the knee or joint, they feel that there is a deficiency of calcium, whereas vitamin-D goes unnoticed.

Dr. Vaishya says that if calcium and vitamin D are also tested on time, then arthritis can be prevented from progressing.

According to Dr. Raju Vaishya, in addition to arthritis, osteoporosis is also very likely due to wrong eating habits and calcium deficiency in childhood. Due to lack of calcium in osteoporosis, bone density and bone marrow are greatly reduced. At the same time, the texture of bones also deteriorates, due to which the bones become very brittle and very sensitive. For this reason, they break even when there is a slight pressure on the bones or a slight injury.

Dr. Raju Vaishya explains that what is most worrying is that the present generation is taking a low calcium diet and insufficient amount of vitamin-D, due to which the density of bones and bones are weak in them.

A paper presented in the American Society for Bone and Medical Research reported that the hip bone density of women who drink three colas per day is 2. 3 to 5.1 percent, compared to women who drink only one beverage per day. Less found

Dr. Raju Vaishya suggests that this disease occurring at an older age can be prevented in childhood itself. If children are given 1200 to 1300 mg of calcium per day especially in adolescence, then they can avoid this disease. But according to statistics, children usually consume 700 to 1000 mg of calcium.
