People who suffer from schizophrenia disease have a three times increased risk of death and are likely to die at a young age.

To explain the trend of schizophrenia, it has been concluded after studying more than 1.6 million deaths in Ontario, Canada, 20 years 1993-2012. Among them, 31,349 people were patients of this disease.

It is seen that this disease takes women, young people, low income groups in their areas. According to the study, despite increasing life expectancy, patients with schizophrenia pass about eight years earlier than the common people.

Previous small studies have also shown high mortality from schizophrenia.

Such studies have also emerged from other countries such as Scandinavia and Australia. Paul Kurdyak of the Canadian Institute of Clinical Evaluative Sciences said, "This study also raises the issue of equality, that schizophrenia patients are not getting as much benefit from public health and other health facilities as individuals without this disease."
