Stroke occurs when blood is not supplied properly in any part of your brain. Due to this the brain tissue does not get oxygen and nutrients. Because of which brain cells start dying, and we fall victim to disease like stroke.



Brain stroke is the second most common cause of death worldwide after coronary artery disease, which has also become one of the most prevalent causes of permanent disability. Every year, 20 to 25 percent of all cases of stroke occur in India.

According to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), stroke is no longer limited to the elderly. Due to the changing lifestyle, now people are becoming victims of this disease even before the age of 40 years.

According to health experts, about 85 percent of strokes are ischemic in nature. According to him , some of the common factors responsible for stroke in the country are high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking and dyslipidemia etc. But surprisingly, even today there is no proper system for the treatment of stroke in our country.

Experts also say that stroke is an emergency. Timely treatment is very important. Because timely treatment increases the chances of recovery. But you can avoid this disease by making some changes in your lifestyle.

Stroke prevention measures:


- This disease can be avoided by reducing weight.

- Exercise for about 30 minutes every day .

- Avoid consumption of cigarettes, paan and tobacco.

- Keep your blood sugar level under control.

- Stay away from stress as much as possible.
